Recently, I discussed the excellent fine cuisine choices in Blue Ridge. They are all amazing and you can’t go wrong enjoying a fabulous dinner at any of the locations that were mentioned. However, we don’t all splurge and eat fine cuisine everyday. Although, many of us do treat ourselves to breakfast on a fairly regular basis. This blog will highlight some of the great breakfast restaurant selections that Blue Ridge has to offer.
Bumble Bee – An adorable diner located outside of town and across the street from the Ingles Shopping Center. You can begin your day with pancakes, eggs, omelettes, fruit, French toast, benedicts and a variety of other southern flair type of breakfast items! They serve breakfast daily from 8 to 2. If you have a large group, you also can reserve a section called “the hive” and you can all dine together. They also received a 2014 certificate of excellence rating from Trip Advisor. You must make a stop at this quaint restaurant on one of your days when you are visiting the mountains!
Blue Ridge Bagel Depot came to the North Georgia Mountain town of Blue Ridge in 2015 and has been going strong since it opened it’s doors! The Depot serves delicious, fresh bagels and sandwiches. NY Bagels, Eggel-Bagels, organic salad wraps, fresh fruit and veggie juicery, fresh roast coffees and home of the “skinny-bagel.” A great place to visit anytime between 7:30 am and 2pm.
Located across from the train depot in Blue Ridge, L and L Beanery was built in the town’s historic bank building. How quaint that they still have the vault set up and inside it is a variety of coffee! The Beanery has an excellent variety on their breakfast menu as well as the setting of a huge stone fireplace and hearth, tin ceilings and an eclectic mix of antique seating. Pancakes, breakfast burritos and sandwiches, benedicts, omelettes, Spanish crepes, muffins and a variety of other delicious breakfast choices. The Beanery prides themselves on being different from a franchise and providing the small mountain town bistro experience you will always remember.
Mercier’s Orchards – Many of you have heard of our famous orchard in Blue Ridge where you can enjoy some of the best apple and peach pies in the south! They also have a café where you can have a good breakfast before you shop in their store or pick your bundle of delicious apples. From 7 to 11am you can delight yourself in the Mercier mountain breakfast, biscuits, omelettes, waffles, pancakes or a variety of a la carte breakfast items. A great atmosphere and fun place to stop. Visiting Merciers should definitely be put on your Blue Ridge bucket list!
Serenity Garden Café is located in the heart of downtown Blue Ridge. Seating is available outside on their patio weather permitting. Enjoy a great southern style breakfast including omelettes, pancakes, biscuits and much more. This is a great place to eat before hitting all of the amazing downtown Blue Ridge shops! They also have another Café located in McCaysville which is a short distance from Blue Ridge. Here you can enjoy dining while looking over the Toccoa River. This is also one of the restaurants that will be featured as a good lunch choice in an upcoming blog!
If you don’t have time for a good sit down type of breakfast, The Trailer can offer you some excellent biscuit choices and other items as well. You may have to wait a little bit in the drive thru line due to the popularity of this amazing biscuit shop! This is another must do when you come to town. You also need cash on hand though as they do not accept credit or debit cards!
